Case Overview

Prince is a 16-year-old senior dog that experienced worsening breath, decreased appetite, and declining energy due to severe dental disease. As anesthesia was risky, several clinics had already advised leaving things as they were.

Dr. J. discovered Prince was dealing with stage III periodontal disease. Left untreated, this could spread beyond the mouth and to vital organs. Doing nothing was not a neutral option, so we had to act fast.

Diagnosis & Decision

Dr. J performed a thorough clinical examination and developed a plan focused on Prince’s safety. To evaluate his internal health and organ function, we used the latest IDEXX laboratory technology. Advanced diagnostics were just the start.

We followed this up with a cardiac assessment to check if he could tolerate anesthesia. After reviewing our findings, we designed an anesthesia protocol specifically meant for Prince. Each step was calculated and personalized for our patient.

The Procedure

On the day of treatment, every member of our team was fully prepared. Prince was placed under his anesthesia protocol, and our nurses monitored everything from blood pressure and oxygen levels to temperature and cardiac rhythm.

Our meticulous dental work focused on removing infection, treating diseased tissues, and restoring oral health. After two hours, Dr. J personally guided Prince out of anesthesia and into recovery, where he woke up calmly and responded well.

The Road to Recovery

In the hours that followed, Prince remained stable and continued to improve under our close watch. He was finally able to walk out happier, with a brighter smile. What many believed was too risky became a miracle story of careful medicine, teamwork, and trust.
